Industrial thermal printheads (Zebra, Honeywell, SATO, TSC) are manufactured on exact metric dot pitches: 8 dots/mm (nominal 203.2 DPI), 12 dots/mm (nominal 304.8 DPI), and 24 dots/mm (nominal 609.6 DPI). Sizing barcode modules to whole printer dots prevents antialiasing blur and scan failures.
